I wrote this song in 1996. I recorded it the same year, but felt like re-doing it it this year, this fall.
lyrics
Fall
Everything outside is turning 1970's living room colors
Everything is getting ready to die
Wish I could dry up
And blow away, goodbye for winter
'cause I feel as grey as the sky
Just getting by, I'm just the tree that grows up nowhere
What the hell's so big about the sky
I wanna sleep
And wake up green with no decisions
Just the yellow sunlight in my eyes
FALL
Every time I walk, I look back and track my journey
How I envy fallen leaves
Bury me
The cold don't mean to shut you inside
Most things aren't as they're perceived
FALL
For a while, I won't smile
It's just what Fall brings
Asleep 'til Spring
